Then and now...

I have been realizing as my body has been changing, so has my perspective on things... I saw a few pictures of myself about a year ago and wow! I look so different! I guess I always knew I was larger then normal, but I never thought I was THAT big, I guess I kinda looked at myself like Jack Black looked at Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal... It wasn't until this last week when I saw some pictures of what I used to look like that I had an AH HA moment... I will post those pictures when I am not at work!

So its been just about 3 months now from my surgery and the total weight is.... (drum roll please..........) 35 POUNDS! Things are going good, and I continue to realize news things every day, there are a lot of things that just are not worth it to eat... bagels are one of them! I try it, and then pay for it later, there are however, some safe foods that I eat on a daily basis... and I find so much comfort in them! I really need to get my butt into the gym though and start working on firming up, if I just found the time to start working out I would lose weight even faster.... maybe once I quit one of my many jobs:) Thank you all for your support with it all, its been a huge help!

What a change already!

Well I know its been a while since I last wrote so I figured IF anyone reads this I should give an update... 3 weeks ago I went in for the first time and I got the band tightened, it was a really hard 3 weeks, basically I couldn't keep anything down at all so I stuck with spinach smoothies, and soup! Y-U-M-M-O so I went back in yesterday and he took some fluid out so I could actually eat regular food... thank heavens cause I had the BEST catfish today for my birthday at Famous Dave's! Well, I have finally reached the 30lbs down mark and I feel so much better already, my self confidence is up, my energy levels are at a higher level, and I just all around feel so much better already... imagine 30 MORE lbs off! I can't wait!!!!!

4 Weeks into it

Well its been 4 weeks into this thing and I am down 25 pounds since surgery! YAY! I am so excited! I feel great, my energy levels are up, I can fit into clothes that I haven't been able to in forever, I just know for sure without ANY doubt this was the right decision for me... God has been so good to me in providing me with the jobs that I needed to pay for this, and more importantly the insurance that paid for most of it:) what a wonderful Savior!

Keeping my promise

These first two pictures are taken the day of my surgery.... Which on Tuesday will be three weeks ago, and since my surgery I have lost 14 pounds! YAY!!! I will get my band tightened in 3 more weeks and after that hopefully the weight will come off faster... right now the band is just in place, and isn't tightened at all, because of that fact I am excited I have even lost weight so far! The last two pictures are taken yesterday at the Disney on Ice show at the Taco Bell arena, Vickie, Katie, Meg and I went for Katies birthday!!! Happy Birthday Katie!!!!

Well today marks my one week from surgery date, and guess what.... I'M ALREADY DOWN 10 POUNDS!!!! YAY!

On Tuesday I took a HUGE step into this new stage in life that I have come to... I had the lap band weight loss surgery... my doctor has been telling me for the last couple of years I should try it, it may help my head problems... so at last I did! The surgery went well, I am really sore but no side effects as of yet. Oh, and by the way the lap band is totally non evasive, they didn't cut my stomach up or anything like that... its just a band that goes around the top part of my stomach an restricts the amount of food that I can eat... It was a hard decision to make, so many people look down on weight loss surgeries, for me I know it was the right thing to do... my family has always been plagued by the weight battle and I want to have mine under control while I am still young, its definantly not a quick fix, I will have alot of hard work to do, but its a tool that I have been given.
